MDOT open house Sept. 12 for project to rebuild US-12/M-51 interchange in Niles

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend an open house to discuss a planned project to rebuild the US-12/M-51 interchange in Niles Township, Berrien County. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the project and proposed changes to the interchange.

Project information:
MDOT plans to invest an estimated $30 million to rebuild the US-12/M-51 interchange, rebuild US-12 from west of 3rd Street to east of M-51, and repave M-51 from Chestnut Lane to Main Street, as well as sidewalk and drainage improvements.

Work is anticipated to begin this September and be completed by November 2024.
