I-94 update: Overnight work on westbound I-94 Oct. 24-26 from M-29 (23 Mile Road) to Cotton Road in Macomb County
October 19, 2023
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 24, through Thursday, Oct. 26, overnight work will occur on westbound I-94 from M-29 (23 Mile Road) to Cotton Road to finish the pavement overlay on this smaller portion of roadway. Only one lane will be open during this overnight work, along with intermittent ramp closures at M-29 (23 Mile Road).
The majority of the road work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, with punch list work and signal work continuing through early December.
This work is part of a $32.5 million I-94 project from M-29 (23 Mile Road) to County Line Road, which includes bridge work at six locations, traffic signal upgrades and partial ramp rebuilding at the I-94/M-19 and I-94/M-29 interchanges.
Based on economic modeling, this investment has directly and indirectly supported 393 jobs.
