Northbound US-131 ramp to I-96, M-37 in Grand Rapids closes Monday for bridge improvements

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $6 million to rebuild the two-lane ramp connecting northbound US-131 to I-96 and M-37 (Alpine Avenue). Work includes bridge deck replacement, barrier replacement, new expansion joints, lighting replacement, structural steel painting, substructure improvements, and approach work.

Traffic restrictions:
The northbound US-131 ramp to I-96 and M-37 is scheduled to close 7 a.m. this Monday through mid-September. The posted detour is to continue north on US-131, exit at West River Drive (Exit 91), and enter southbound US-131 to access I-96 and M-37. During this time, the left two lanes of northbound US-131 will be closed between Ann Street and I-96.
