US-2 reopened west of Escanaba following pavement repairs

ESCANABA, Mich. - The US-2 bridge over Portage Creek west of Escanaba in Delta County has been repaired and the highway is now open to traffic.

The detour was lifted just before 4 p.m. today after re-paving was completed.

High water in the creek after recent rains damaged the east approach to the bridge and undermined the pavement. The road was closed beginning May 3 while emergency repairs were made.
