Northbound US-127 lane closure in Gratiot County extended due to heavy rainfall
June 20, 2025
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Due to recent heavy rainfall, the single-lane closure on northbound US-127 between M-57 and Pierce Lane Road in Gratiot County has been extended through the weekend. Paving is anticipated to begin Friday, June 20.
This work is a part of an overall $37 million investment to improve 6.6 miles of US-127 from M-57 to north of Bagley Road in Gratiot County. Work includes drainage improvements, milling and paving, indirect left-turn configurations at the Garfield Road intersection, restoration work (including new topsoil and seeding), new lane markings and corrugation, and sign installation.
Lane closures during this type of work are necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes.
Based on economic modeling, this $37 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 353 jobs.
This work is weather dependent.
