Southbound US-127 exit to Trowbridge Road closed Wednesday, Thursday in Ingham County for bridge demolition

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is closing southbound US-127 Exit 75 to Trowbridge Road Wednesday and Thursday for bridge demolition and scaling. 

This work is part of the $205 million investment to rebuild US-127/I-496 from I-96 to I-496 that will address safety concerns, improve roadway geometrics, and improve traffic flow. In addition, this work is expected to improve and rebuild bridges through this segment and update drainage, signs, and pavement markings in Ingham County.

This work will require closing southbound US-127 Exit 75 to Trowbridge Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.

Based on economic modeling, this overall project investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 2,481 jobs. 

Safety benefit:
This work will increase the service life of this structure. Closing roads during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
