Hamblin Avenue closed July 13-31 for Washington Avenue bridge work in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Starting Monday, July 13, Hamblin Avenue will be closed between Kendall Street and McCamly Street in Battle Creek while the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and contractor C. A. Hull set beams for the M-89 (Washington Avenue) bridge over the Battle Creek River.
The closure is expected to last through Friday, July 31. A detour will be posted on Kendall Street, Michigan Avenue and Hamblin Avenue.
The $7.6 million investment includes bridge rebuilding and repairs, approach replacement, drainage improvements, guardrail replacement, signal work, water main relocation and pavement markings.
