Michigan Traffic Incident Management Effort
Michigan Traffic Incident Management Effort
Michigan's Traffic Incident Management Effort (Mi-TIME) is a partnership between agencies, including MDOT, state and local law enforcement, fire, EMS, local road agencies and towing services, to work together to safely and efficiently clear traffic incidents from Michigan's roads.
Traffic Incident Management (TIM) is important for maintaining safe, effective travel, as well as minimizing economic impacts due to delays and congestion. Mi-TIME responder training provides the responder community with TIM standards and good practices, with the overall purpose of enhancing quick clearance efforts and improving responder and motorist safety.
The 2024 Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) will take place November 18-22, 2024.
Michigan's Move Over law
Michigan’s Move Over law requires motorists to slow down and move over for stationary authorized vehicles with flashing, rotating, or oscillating lights activated.
A motorist violating the Move Over law for authorized emergency vehicles is responsible for a civil infraction and is subject to two points on their driver’s license and a fine of $400.
