MDOT public meeting Aug. 30 to discuss safety improvements at M-43/Meridian Road intersection in Meridian Township

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Ingham County Road Department (ICRD) invite the public to a virtual meeting to discuss a proposed project at the M-43/Meridian Road intersection in Meridian Township, Ingham County. Planned work includes installing a new traffic signal, adding a center left-turn lane on Meridian Road, and stormwater and safety improvements.

Project information:
MDOT and ICRD are investing approximately $800,000 in safety and stormwater improvements to the north leg of the M-43/Meridian Road intersection in Meridian Township. Planned work includes installing traffic and pedestrian signals, widening Meridian Road to add a center left-turn lane, improvements to the stormwater outlet, sidewalks, sidewalk ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and gutters. Work is anticipated to begin this October with tree clearing and is anticipated to be completed by September 2023.
