Two-year project to repair US-2 bridge over I-75 begins

ST. IGNACE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $4.5 million to repair the US-2 bridge over I-75 in the city of St. Ignace. The work on this two-year project will include expansion joint replacement, pier cap and bearing replacement, and painting.

Traffic restrictions:
During ongoing pre-construction stages, eastbound and westbound US-2 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction using outside lane closures. US-2 lane widths will be restricted to 11 feet over the structure. During the first stage of construction, expected to begin April 10, additional lane shifts and restrictions will be required.
