MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is inviting the public to participate in a survey to gather insight and understand how the I-75 high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes have influenced travel choices. This anonymous survey is open until June 30 at Michigan.gov/HOV.
Opened in fall 2023, the HOV lanes are located between 12 Mile Road and South Boulevard. Operating as HOV lanes on weekdays 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m., vehicles must have at least two human occupants to legally use the lanes. Emergency vehicles, transit buses and motorcycles are exempt from occupant requirements. Outside of those designated weekday hours, these lanes are available for all vehicles regardless of the number of occupants.
