US-23 resurfacing in Au Gres starts today, April 17

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $6.5 million to resurface more than 8 miles of US-23 from South Point Lookout Road to Dyer Road at the county line. Work includes resurfacing of the roadway and culvert improvements at Dime Drain, Whitney Drain, and Silver Drain.

Traffic restrictions:
Traffic will be maintained with lane closures, traffic shifts, and traffic controllers. During bridge work, temporary traffic signals will be used to maintain both directions of traffic.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 78 jobs.
Safety benefit:
This work will improve the driving surface of the roadway and complete critical maintenance at several culverts to ensure proper drainage.
