M-43 resurfacing in Meridian Township begins Tuesday

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin resurfacing on M-43 (Grand River Avenue) between Okemos Road and Marsh Road in Okemos. This work is part of MDOT's ongoing improvements on M-43 between Park Lake Road and Oak Point Court.

MDOT is investing approximately $12 million to perform resurfacing and drainage improvements on M-43. Work includes updating CATA bus stop access throughout the corridor, completing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant ramp safety improvements, adding pedestrian refuge islands to key crossings, and resurfacing M-43 between Marsh Road and Park Lake Road.

Funding for this project is made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improve the condition of the state's infrastructure.
