ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public open house to discuss the draft noise report associated with the US-23 improvement study in Washtenaw County.

Project information:
A traffic noise study was conducted to assess the traffic noise environment associated with the proposed alternative for the US-23 improvement study, located in Washtenaw County. The proposed alternative, called Safely Connecting Communities, includes rebuilding two lanes of US-23 from I-94 to Geddes Road, improvements to the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound US-23, rebuilding the US-23/M-17 (Washtenaw Avenue) interchange, and associated work on 13 bridges along the US-23 corridor.
The noise study analyzed noise impacts and potential noise mitigation. The draft report and information on MDOT’s noise abatement program are available on MDOT's website.
Public comment:
MDOT is currently seeking public input on the draft noise report. Comments can be submitted via an online comment form, e-mail to MonsmaM@michigan.gov, and in-person at the public meeting, or by mail to the address below. Provide your comments by July 22, 2025.
