Lane closure next week for US-141 Iron County bridge project
March 08, 2024
COVINGTON, Mich. – Motorists should expect brief delays at the US-141 bridge over the East Branch of the Net River in Iron County when work resumes next week.
Beginning Monday, March 11, and continuing to Friday, March 15, one alternating lane will remain open at the bridge using temporary traffic signals or traffic regulators.
Some substructure work on this bridge is needed to complete part of the $4.9 million Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) investment to rebuild four bridges in Iron and Ontonagon counties begun last year. Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 70 jobs.
This work will extend the lifespan of the bridges and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
