M-134 resurfacing in Mackinac County starts June 17

NEWBERRY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $1 million to resurface nearly 7 miles of M-134 from Nunns Creek Road to 3 Mile Road in Mackinac County. The work includes double-chip seal, fog seal, over-band crack fill, asphalt mastic repair, aggregate shoulders, guardrail repair, and pavement markings.

Traffic restrictions:
Work will be performed during daytime hours only. One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained on M-134 using traffic regulators. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place during the project.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 12 jobs.

Safety benefit:
This project will increase safety for motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
