US-2/M-28 intersection traffic signal study in Wakefield begins Friday

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is evaluating the traffic signal at the US-2/M-28 (Sunday Lake Street) intersection in Wakefield, Gogebic County. This study will require placing the traffic signal at US-2 and M-28 into flash mode. Motorists should be aware of the change in the traffic pattern.
The signal is expected to go into flash mode at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 26. The study is scheduled to be completed this fall.
The study will evaluate the safety and operational performance of the intersection.
