Lane closures on M-28 in Houghton, Baraga counties set to begin Aug. 19

KENTON, Mich. - Contractors for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing maintenance on M-28 in Houghton and Baraga counties, requiring lane closures beginning Aug. 19:
- Beginning Monday, Aug. 19, motorists should expect one lane of alternating traffic using traffic controllers on M-28 in Kenton, Houghton County, for storm sewer replacement. The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 21.
- Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, motorists should expect one lane of alternating traffic under traffic controllers on US-141/M-28 east of the Rock River in Covington Township, Baraga County, for shoulder rebuilding. The work is expected to be completed by Sept. 5.
This work is weather dependent and the schedule may be adjusted.
These projects will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the roadway.
