Tree clearing starts Friday for 2025 US-12 resurfacing project in Berrien County

COLOMA, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in partnership with Kalin Construction Co. Inc. is set to begin work on a $9.1 million investment on almost 7 miles of US-12 from the Galien/Bertrand township line to Mayflower Road.
Tree clearing is set to begin in early November, and roadwork is expected to start next April. The project includes asphalt repaving and shoulder widening, intersection rebuilding, drainage improvements, guardrail replacement and pavement markings.

Traffic restrictions:
During tree clearing, there will be shoulder closures and intermittent single-lane closures.
