MDOT public meeting Nov. 20 to discuss draft noise report for I-94, US-131 in Kalamazoo County

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to discuss the draft noise report associated with the US-131/I-94 interchange and highway improvements in Kalamazoo County.

Project information:
A traffic noise study was conducted to assess the traffic noise environment associated with the proposed I-94/US-131 ramp improvement project located in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County. The proposed project includes approximately 1.5 miles of rebuilding northbound US-131 and widening the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound US-131.

The noise study analyzed the entire project area for noise impacts and potential noise mitigation. The draft report and information on MDOT's noise abatement program each are available on MDOT's website.

Public comment:
MDOT is currently seeking public input on the draft noise report. Comments can be submitted via an online comment form, email, phone and in-person at the public meeting. Provide your comments by Dec. 4, 2024.
