M-58 (State Street) intersections closing for paving Nov. 13 & 14 in Saginaw
November 07, 2025
SAGINAW, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the M-58 (State Street)/Mackinaw Street and eastbound M-58 (State Street)/Warwick Street intersections for paving work.
The Mackinaw Street intersection will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 13. The Warwick Street intersection will be closed on Friday, Nov. 14. Northbound and southbound traffic will temporarily not be able to cross M-58 (State Street) through these intersections during paving.
Eastbound M-58 (State Street) is currently closed and detoured onto westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue). Westbound M-58 was converted into a two-way road with a temporary center turn lane for the duration of this project.
This work is part of a project to rebuild 1.1 miles of eastbound M-58 (State Street) from Avalon Avenue to M-84 (Bay Street) in Saginaw. Work includes hot-mix asphalt rebuilding; new concrete curb, gutter and sidewalks; signal upgrades; signs; landscaping and pavement markings. MDOT is also coordinating with the City of Saginaw to make upgrades to city sewers and water mains.
Based on economic modeling, this $13 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 124 jobs.Media Contact:
