Project information:
The I-475 corridor improvements project started with a $300 million investment from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan bond program to rebuild approximately 8 miles of I-475.
A $141 million investment to rebuild 3 miles of I-475 from the Flint River to Carpenter Road was completed in fall 2025. This upcoming $278.3 million investment will address the middle and south segments of the corridor from the Flint River to Bristol Road. Approximately 5 miles of I-475 will be rebuilt in each direction, along with multiple structures being improved or replaced.
Work on the middle and south segments is anticipated to begin in spring 2026 and continue through fall 2028. Further schedule information will be announced in advance of work starting.
Attendees to this virtual meeting will be able to learn more about the upcoming project, noise barrier wall replacements and traffic detours.
