Lane closures for UP bridge inspections June 5-11

HOUGHTON, Mich. - Crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing routine bridge inspections on structures in the Upper Peninsula from June 5 to 11. The inspections will require intermittent closures.
The following closures are scheduled for the inspections. The work is weather-dependent:
- Friday, June 5: The M-26 bridge over the Eagle River will have lane closures under flag control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday, June 6: The M-64/M-38 bridge over the Ontonagon River and River Road will have shared-use path closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and shoulder closures from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Monday, June 8: The M-38 bridge over the Firesteel River will have lane closures under flag control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 9: The US-45 bridge over the East Branch of the Ontonagon River will have lane closures under flag control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 10: The M-28 bridge over the Ontonagon River will have lane closures under flag control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, June 11: The US-41 bridge over the Sturgeon River will have lane closures under flag control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
These inspections will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridges.
