M-134 overpass work starts July 29 in Mackinac County

NEWBERRY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $800,000 for bridge preventive maintenance, including substructure patching, temporary supports and substructure surface sealer, on the M-134 overpass at I-75, Mackinac County.

Traffic restrictions:
Work will require single-lane closures on northbound and southbound I-75. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction utilizing temporary concrete barrier wall. A 12-foot lane width restriction will be in place during the project.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 10 jobs.

This project will increase safety for motorists and extend the lifespan of the structure.
