M-28 bridge repairs over Prairie Creek start Aug. 12

NEWBERRY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $250,000 in preventive maintenance, including cleaning and coating of structural steel, on the M-28 bridge over Prairie Creek, Alger County. This project includes a two-year bridge coating warranty.

Traffic restrictions:
Work will require a single-lane closure on M-28. One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place on M-28 during the project.

This project will increase safety for motorists and extend the lifespan of the structure.
