US-127 lanes, ramps closed Friday in Lansing for traffic control removal

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close multiple ramps and lanes of US-127 for traffic control removal on the US-127 reconstruction project, including all lanes of southbound US-127 from M-43 to Trowbridge Road, Friday Dec. 12, in Lansing. Closures may extend into the weekend depending on the weather.

This work is part of the $205 million investment to rebuild US-127/I-496 from I-96 to I-496 to address safety concerns, improve roadway geometrics and improve vehicular movement.

Funding for this project is made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improve the condition of the state's infrastructure.
