Lane closure on M-30 bridge over the Tobacco River Oct. 10 to address pavement corrections
October 08, 2024
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation will address pavement repairs on the M-30 bridge over the Tobacco River (formerly known as Wixom Lake). Work will include milling and repaving the top layer of pavement on the south side of the bridge to address pavement density.
On Monday, Oct. 7, the new bridge was opened to traffic. This structure was built to replace the former M-30 bridge, which was destroyed in the 2020 flooding event. A section of pavement on the south bridge approach does not meet the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) specifications, so the contractor will replace the required section of pavement. All costs for this work are being absorbed by the contractor.
