Southbound US-127 entrance ramps in Lansing closed Tuesday for pavement markings, barrier wall removal

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is closing all ramps to southbound US-127 from M-43 to Trowbridge Road on Tuesday for pavement markings and barrier wall removal to prepare for the reopening of southbound US-127.
This work is part of the $205 million investment to rebuild US-127/I-496 from I-96 to I-496 that is addressing safety concerns, improving roadway geometrics, and improving traffic flow. In addition, this work is expected to improve and rebuild bridges through this segment and update drainage, signs and pavement markings in Ingham County.

This work will require intermittent closures of all ramps to southbound US-127 from M-43 to Trowbridge Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Follow the posted detours. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes.

This project will provide motorists with a rebuilt freeway with improved geometrics and rebuilt structures through the corridor. Closing lanes and ramps during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
