US-23 lane closures at Joy Road in Ann Arbor start Friday night, Sept. 26, for beam setting

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will have lane closures, including intermittent total closures, on US-23 in each direction at the Joy Road bridge in Ann Arbor beginning Friday to replace bridge beams. This work follows a high-load strike to the Joy Road bridge in June 2024.

Traffic restrictions:
US-23 will have one lane closed in each direction at Joy Road from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, to Sunday, Sept. 28.
Intermittent total closures of US-23 in each direction will occur beginning 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, until 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. Traffic control will be maintained by the Michigan State Police (MSP). Motorists should expect delays.
