M-58 (Davenport Avenue) detoured Nov. 20 - 24 for water main break repairs in Saginaw

SAGINAW, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close M-58 (Davenport Avenue) from M-84 (Bay Street) to Hemmeter Road Thursday, Nov. 20, through Monday Nov. 24, to allow the City of Saginaw to safely complete emergency water main repairs after a break occurred earlier this week.

Eastbound M-58 (State Street) is currently closed and was detoured onto westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue) as a part of an ongoing $13 million rebuilding project. Westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue) was converted to a two-way road with a temporary center turn lane for the duration of this project.

To accommodate this emergency water main work, westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue) traffic will be temporarily detoured via M-84 (Bay Street), Shattuck Road, Hemmeter Road and M-58 (State Street). Eastbound Davenport Avenue traffic will be detoured via Hemmeter Road, Shattuck Road, M-84 (Bay Street) and M-58 (State Street).

This detour schedule is subject to change based on repair progress.
