Project information:
MDOT plans to invest approximately $18 million in bridge work on I-75 over the Lake State Railroad and I-75 over M-72 in the city of Grayling, Crawford County. Proposed work includes replacing the bridge decks on I-75 over the Lake State Railroad and replacing the I-75 bridges over M-72.

There is no feasible detour for nonmotorized traffic on the trail under northbound and southbound I-75. Motorized traffic will be detoured onto the opposing side of I-75 during work on the two bridges in 2028 and 2029. Therefore, the trail will need to be closed for approximately two months in 2028 and 2029 each year while the bridge and other work is completed on I-75 over Lake State Railroad.

Crossovers will be built in advance of the bridges to shift I-75 traffic to the opposite lanes.
