Date: Spring 2026 - November 2026
MDOT will be rebuilding US-127 from south of Lake Lansing Rd. north to I-69 to improve roadway geometrics, safety and vehicular movement. This work will consist of sound wall installation, bridge rehabilitation, pavement repairs, upgrades to drainage and signs and intelligent transportation systems improvements.
Traffic restrictions beginning mid-August 2026:
Traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of US-127, where two northbound lanes open and one southbound lane will remain open most times. This traffic shift will require lane and ramp closures in both directions between Saginaw St. and I-69.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and consider alternate routes when possible.
Looking ahead:
Following the completion of this project in November 2026, MDOT will begin the next phase of US-127 improvements, rebuilding and realigning US-127 from I-496 to Lake Lansing Rd. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027 and continue over approximately three years. Additional details and traffic impacts will be shared in the coming months.
