I-75 crossover work at Cheeseman Road starts Sept. 9

ST. IGNACE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $1.2 million to build crossovers, perform guardrail work, install signs, and place pavement markings on I-75 at Cheeseman Road in the city of St. Ignace, Mackinac County. The work is in advance of an overpass deck replacement project scheduled for 2025.

Traffic restrictions:
Work will be performed during daytime hours only. I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12-foot lane width restriction during the project. The posted speed limit will be reduced to 60 mph; 45 mph where workers present.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 15 jobs.
