KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Kalin Construction Co. Inc. have substantially completed the two-year, $10.1 million investment to rebuild and repave more than 3.5 miles of M-40 in Lawton, Van Buren County. All lanes are now open.
The project had been delayed several weeks, mostly by Amtrak's project to rebuild the railroad crossing and issues with the village water lines.
While there still will be some remaining work, including pavement markings, rumble strips, electrical work, and some restoration work, there will be no further lane closures.
