Michigan Avenue north roundabout at I-94 closed in Jackson Oct. 13-27 for repairs

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the Michigan Avenue north roundabout at I-94 for corrective repairs starting Monday. These repairs are being performed by the contractor before the overall I-94 project is completed.

This work is part of the multi-year $162 million I-94 road and bridge rebuilding project in Jackson County, made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improves the condition of the state's infrastructure.

Traffic restrictions:
This work will require closing the Michigan Avenue north roundabout at I-94. Motorists should expect delays. The following detours will be posted:

  •        Eastbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via the Parma Road on and off ramps (Exit 130).
  •        Westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via the Concord Road (Exit 127) and Parma Road (Exit 130) ramps.

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this overall I-94 investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 1,960 jobs.
