Allen Road bridge improvements start March 17 over I-69 in St. Clair County

PORT HURON, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $2.1 million to improve the Allen Road bridge over I-69 in St. Clair County. Work will include deck replacement, beam repair, substructure patching, partial painting, silane treatment, concrete surface coating, and approach work.

Traffic restrictions:
Allen Road will be closed at I-69 in each direction. Traffic will be detoured via Lapeer Road, Range Road and Griswold Road.
Intermittent lane closures will be implemented on I-69 during this project. I-69 will also be closed intermittently on two select weekends. A closure is currently planned for Friday, March 21, through Monday, March 24. A second weekend closure is anticipated near the completion of the project and will be announced in advance.

This work will provide drivers with a smoother, safer driving surface. Closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
