Blue Water Bridge plaza expansion work begins this Friday, May 16

SAGINAW, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is preparing to begin work on Component 1 of the Blue Water Bridge plaza expansion project in Port Huron.

Component 1 will include relocating eastbound I-94/I-69 Exit 275 to M-25 (Pine Grove Avenue), reconfiguring the 10th Avenue/Pine Grove Avenue intersection, rebuilding eastbound I-94/I-69 at the MDOT maintenance facility location, and installing noise walls along the eastbound I-94/I-69 exit to Pine Grove Avenue, as well as along westbound I-94/I-69 Business Loop (BL) from Garfield Street south to the Black River Bridge.

"Across Michigan, we are moving dirt and fixing the damn roads to grow our economy, helping Michiganders go to work, drop their kids off at school and run errands safely," said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. "By the end of this construction season, we will have fixed, repaired or replaced nearly 24,500 lane miles of roads and 1,900 bridges, supporting thousands of good-paying, local jobs without raising taxes by a dime. This year, let's build on our momentum to pass a bipartisan local road funding plan so we can keep fixing our damn roads and creating good-paying, local jobs."
