MiTRIP oversize/overweight permits

The Michigan Transport Routing and Internet Permitting System (MiTRIP) allows applicants to order oversize/overweight single trip and extended permits to travel on state and federal highways in Michigan. Registration must be done through MPG using a credit/debit card or electronic fund transfer (e-Check, business check) with bank accounts in the United States.

Permit ordering or renewing

The MDOT Permit Gateway (MPG) is the official portal for ordering and renewing permits. For technical support (e.g., password or login help), contact MDOT-MPG@Michigan.gov or call 844-806-0002.

Permits are required for objects or vehicles over 13' 6" in height

Vehicle-bridge collisions result in serious injuries, significant property damage, and major congestion problems. It is important to know the height of your load. If you have questions or need assistance, contact your local county road commission or MDOT Permits Unit at 517-241-8999.
