Cash Assistance

Temporary cash assistance is available for eligible pregnant women and low-income families with minor children. Use MI Bridges to apply for assistance, check your eligibility status and manage your account.  Apply for Assistance and Manage Your Account Online with MI Bridges

Applicants for cash assistance will take part in a robust, results-oriented work participation program - PATH. The new program features a 21-day assessment period during which barriers to employment are identified and caseworkers work individually with clients to connect them with resources to address these barriers.

Disability Assistance

State Disability Assistance (SDA) provides cash assistance to eligible  disabled adults. If you are the caretaker of a disabled person or are age 65 or older, you may be eligible for SDA.


To qualify for cash assistance, children must be a part of your family and meet age requirements.

Payment - Bridge Card

Clients are issued a Michigan Bridge Card to purchase certain food products and access cash benefits at a number of retailers and ATMs throughout the state.

The Refugee Assistance Program is a federally funded program which helps persons admitted into the U.S. as refugees to become self-sufficient after their arrival.
