The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is the criminal justice agency within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) providing program integrity services. OIG agents provide investigation and advisory services to ensure appropriate and efficient use of available public resources in the State of Michigan.

- OIG MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the OIG is to assist MDHHS in maintaining integrity and accountability in the administration of its health and human services programs. The OIG provides investigation and advisory services to ensure appropriate and efficient use of available public resources. The office shall serve as an independent and autonomous entity within the department to lead the integrity efforts of health and human services programs by seeking out, detecting and investigating provider and recipient fraud, waste and abuse.
