MCSP Cancer Statistics

The Michigan Cancer Surveillance Program (MCSP) collects tumor information that can be used for research studies, epidemiological surveillance or aggregated into statistics. The MCSP Cancer Statistics page uses this data to provide tabulations for common causes of cancer for Michigan counties, Health Departments, and the City of Detroit.

Environmental Health

The Michigan Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (MiTracking) gathers existing Michigan-specific environmental and health data and provides them in one online location. The MiTracking Data Portal makes it easy to explore data at the state, county and sometimes local levels, and display it in sharable tables, charts and maps.

The National Cancer Institute defines a cancer cluster as the occurrence of a greater than expected number of cancer cases among a group of people in a defined geographic area over a specific time. This may mean several cases of a rare cancer, or an exceptionally large number of common diseases such as breast, prostate, or lung cancer. The Michigan Cancer Surveillance Registry, together with your local health department and other state agencies, investigates cancer clusters. If you suspect your community is part of a cluster, please contact:
