Neighborhood Wellness Centers (NWC)
Your Neighborhood Testing Site (NTS) is now a Neighborhood Wellness Center! Neighborhood Wellness Centers offer new preventative health care and referral services right around the corner, remaining in the same trusted, welcoming locations they have always been.
Neighborhood Wellness Center Transition
With the transition from NTS to Neighborhood Wellness Centers, you can receive the following services, free of charge and without insurance or ID requirements:
- Blood Pressure Screenings
- Cholesterol Screenings
- Diabetes Screenings
- Cancer Screenings (additional details to be determined at a later date)
- On-site Community Health Workers to support the various needs and offer linkages to other services:
- Health care enrollment and assistance.
- Connection to community resources (food, housing, utilities).
- Education on healthy lifestyles and behaviors.
- Locating providers.
- Management of chronic conditions and medications.
- And more!
These sites continue to offer COVID-19 testing year-round and flu testing, seasonally.
MDHHS is excited that Neighborhood Wellness Centers provide these services in non-traditional health care settings where you feel comfortable.
In the future, additional healthcare and other services may be added as these innovative Neighborhood Wellness Centers evolve!
