Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health Resources
Welcome to our new Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health Resources page for child welfare in Michigan! Formerly know as Fostering Mental Health, the Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health unit worked diligently to create the page you are currently visiting. The information in this portion of the website is a collaborative effort between MDHHS and many partner organizations across the State of Michigan. Our goal is to provide child welfare health information which focuses on three main ideas: safety, permanency, and wellbeing. Whether you're a casual visitor, parent, foster parent, caseworker, child welfare professional, or medical provider; there will be useful information to discover in the sections below.
About Us: Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health (CWMBH) develops programming, protocols, and policies that are responsive to the physical, dental, mental, and behavioral health needs of children in foster care.
Mission Statement: Child Welfare Medical and Behavioral Health works with its partners within MDHHS and in communities across Michigan to support the health and well-being of children in foster care, because well-being is key to both permanency and safety.
