Health Equity Fund Project
Providing long-term supports and services (LTSS) in a beneficiary’s home, rather than a nursing facility, supports the preference of most individuals to remain in their community, is an efficient use of state resources, and is the direction of LTSS in Michigan. This project will increase the use of home and community-based services (HCBS) by analyzing Medicaid data to identify racial or ethnic disparities in the type and amount of services offered to individuals who are receiving services. The project will also work with local communities to identify factors that prevent individuals from applying for services and then a strategy will be developed with community partners for achieving greater health equity.
