Regional Town Hall Meetings
Regional Town Hall Meetings
Regional Town Hall meetings provide opportunities to uplift the voices of communities. Attendees offer their feedback and thoughts on maternal and infant health services, policies and systems along with challenges and strengths in their communities..
The valuable feedback received in these meetings helps inform and align efforts to improve health outcomes and work towards zero health disparities. The important information obtained during the Town Halls is used to inform the Advancing healthy Births plan, MDHHS programs, as well as efforts of the Division of Maternal and Infant Health and Regional Perinatal Quality Collaboratives.

2023 Town Hall Meetings
Town Hall meetings were hosted by the Regional Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (RPQCs) in partnership with the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Maternal and Infant Health. Meetings were held statewide throughout each of Michigan’s Prosperity Regions. Approximately 500 diverse stakeholders, partners and families attended the twelve Town Hall meetings which were held in April and May 2023.
Common Themes Across All Regions
Throughout Michigan, communities emphasized the importance of uniform messaging, coordinated care, and improved awareness and access to existing resources and services. Families and stakeholders highlighted the necessity of expanding access to home visiting programs and ensuring inclusivity for all family structures, in addition to including men and fathers. Communities also acknowledged the increasing imperative to tackle social determinants of health, reduce stigma, and address unconscious biases.
