MDHHS Doula Registry

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Doula Registry

The MDHHS Doula Registry provides information regarding doulas in Michigan who have been verified as having completed one of the MDHHS-approved doula training programs.

Important Information:

  • This registry is updated on a monthly basis and is not a real time document.
  • MDHHS does not license/certify doulas or doula training programs, and inclusion on the MDHHS Doula Registry does not imply endorsement of the individual or their services.
  • If you are a doula listed on the registry and there is an inaccuracy, please contact MDHHS-MIDoula@michigan.gov.

People seeking Medicaid doula services must:

  1. Contact their Medicaid Health Plan and/or doula to see if their services are covered by your insurance.
    • Doulas providing services to Medicaid beneficiaries are required to be registered with MDHHS and enrolled as a Medicaid provider. Being “Medicaid-enrolled” does not necessarily mean a doula is enrolled as a provider for every Medicaid Health Plan (MHP).
  2. Contact the individual doula to determine if they are accepting new clients.
