Resources for Community Mental Health Service Providers (CMHSPs)
MiDDC works with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and professionals at CMHSPs to develop tools and strategies to guide individuals with I/DD toward greater self-advocacy and community inclusion.
Resources are available to help professionals at CMHSPs to better assist and support people with I/DD and their families throughout their lives.

Peer Mentoring
Peer Mentors are individuals with I/DD using their lived experiences to help their peers understand how to use community mental health services and resources. Peer mentors can help guide individuals toward greater self-advocacy, empowerment, and personal responsibility for their success.
Charting the LifeCourse
People with I/DD have the right to pursue their dreams like any other person in their community. Charting the LifeCourse is a tool created to help individuals and families of all ages and all abilities. The tool can be used in the planning process to support individuals to achieve their vision for a good life.
Community of Practice
Michigan's Community of Practice (CoP) is led by agencies throughout the state to develop systems of support for people with I/DD and their families. Michigan's CoP provides support and opportunities for shared learning to assist people with I/DD within the context of their families and communities.
