Vaccine Equity

Overview:

The CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Equity Grant aims to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccines and vaccinations overall, especially for racial and ethnic minority populations across Michigan. The grant provides health education, pop-up vaccination sites, and opportunities to develop trusted messengers to address vaccine hesitancy.

Goals:

Increase vaccinations and access to the COVID-19 vaccines, especially in racial/ethnic minority populations.
Provide subject matter expertise on COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccines, and health equity.
Hold listening sessions and conversations with racial and ethnic minority populations, Communities with disproportionately high rates of SARS-CoV-2, and communities that have been historically mistreated by the healthcare system.
Develop trusted messengers within racial and ethnic minority populations across Michigan to address vaccine hesitancy.
