Mandatory Reporting
It is mandated all hearing tests and screens on babies less than 12 months of age and all diagnosed hearing losses in children under 3 years of age be reported to the EHDI program (Act No. 31 Public Acts of 2006).
How to Report Inpatient Screening Results
Notify EHDI of the hearing screening results of every newborn. Inpatient hearing results must be reported utilizing the hearing card attached to the newborn screening card. Hearing results should be sent within 7 days of performing the hearing screen.
How to Report Outpatient Rescreening Results
Notify EHDI of the hearing screening results of every newborn. Outpatient hearing rescreen results should be reported utilizing the Hearing Screening Form . Hearing results should be sent within 7 days of performing the hearing rescreen.
