Juvenile Residential Facilities Advisory Committee (RAC)

The Juvenile Justice Task Force recommended creating a statewide Residential Advisory Committee (RAC) to assist the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). Securing appropriate and timely placements—particularly for youth with behavioral health needs who require specialized residential treatment—has become increasingly challenging. The RAC built on the progress of the Juvenile Justice Reform Task Force by recommending statewide quality assurance and continuous improvement processes for residential facilities.
